The easy way to promote your Easter events

The easy way to promote your Easter events- Free Easter slides
Picture
I recently read how many days remain until Easter, and panicked. Surely, I had more time than that to organise and prepare for Easter with my family plus the Easter kidmin events! Do you feel the same?

A big part of the event preparation is the promotion. I sure don't want any of the church families, or those from the community, to respond later that they didn't know we'd be doing a special Easter event, or an Easter Egg Hunt, or anything else planned to resonate with families and remind others of the real Easter message. And, yes, I hope that I've promoted our Easter events within the community. But sometimes, we forget to be just as conscientious in reminding the kids and families of our church about all that's been organised.

Promote your event with a vibrant powerpoint slide
So.. if you're still looking for other ways to highlight your events, the easiest way is with a FREE powerpoint slide. You can download and include them in your kidmin program. You can insert them in the announcements for the entire church. Two of the slides can be used on the day to announce the imminent start of the Easter Egg Hunt. And yes, they can easily be customised with your own details. Files for designs #1,2 & 4 can be found below. The link to the two other files can be found by clicking on the images.  They can be used in other ways, too.
Use for your Social Media
If you need an image for your social media pages, then open the powerpoint file. Make any wording alterations you need, relevant to your events. Then, along the top of your Powerpoint program you'll find the editing tools on the right. (Find- Replace-Select) Click on Select and choose Select All. Then right-click on the slide and choose 'Save the image.' and you'll have an image that can be uploaded along with your other information to your social media pages.

Easter postcards or flyers
In the same way you can use the slide image as the front of a flyer or card with your other information added to the reverse and hand them out as a last-minute reminder to families.
So... now you can relax, happy in the knowledge that everything is in place ready for Easter.

Are you ready for Easter? Are you preparing an Easter presentation? Have you chosen a special Easter series or maybe just an Easter weekend lesson? There are certainly plenty of choices with, equally, plenty of planning and organisation ahead for this special celebration. It's also a wonderful opportunity to invite others to your kidmin presentation as you remember and celebrate Easter together.

So.. to help you make some of these important planning decisions, I've compiled a selection of Easter resources.  Instead of a boring list, I thought it might be a little more exciting and visual to present the information as an infographic. The concept is simple: just click on the icon within the infographic to link to the resources you need. If your internet connection is slow, you might find it easier to view online here...

But, just as i finished the infographic, I discovered another great collection of Easter programs and resources. So, you find those here. Check out the collection below and if you've found other exciting ideas and resources, please add them in the comments section below.

Helpful tips for an Easter egg hunt

Beyond a doubt, the question on every child's lips over the Easter weekend will be, 'When are we having the Easter egg hunt?" Yes, we all want the focus of Easter to be on the Saviour. We strive to present every Easter experience to bring new meaning and understanding of the importance of Jesus' sacrifice to everyone.

But, most families also want to include some fun and create special memories for their kids. So I'm guessing that your kidmin will be holding some type of Easter Egg Hunt for the kids following your Easter worship service and kidmin program. So here are some ideas that you might find useful:

Picture
Tip #1: Promote your event
You'll want to promote your event and ensure everyone knows when and where it will take place.
You can find this free wonderful Easter Egg Hunt graphic from Children's Ministry Deals here.
Use it as an announcements slide with details about the time, place and any other important information.
Print it out and laminate and use as directional signs for your hunt, too.

Tip #2: Provide signs and directions
Signs and directions ensure everyone knows where they need to go. Special signs, clues and notes add interest and excitement, too, for kids eagerly looking for those elusive eggs.

Check out these free printables of garden signs and clues for your hunt...here.
Some just need to be printed and used but others are left blank for you to add your own cryptic clues and notes.

Tip #3: Organise separate areas for different ages.
It doesn't matter what age children are, when you mention Easter Egg Hunt, they dash madly to find the most eggs in the shortest possible time. And that's fine.. except that little ones are often knocked over in the excitement. They're also slower to find eggs and some may even miss out entirely. Try designating particular areas for younger children and ensuring leaders go with the little ones to help them find the eggs.

Tip #4: Easter bags for everyone will help avoid the tears.
Searching for, and finding Easter eggs, is loads of fun for kids. But there are always children who will find few, if any, eggs.  And their distress can spoil much of the fun. We have found it helpful to hide only plastic eggs for the kids. They can find as many as possible,(and  there are always the competitive ones who want to find more than anyone else). But we create special Easter prizes, packs filled with chocolate and candy eggs as well as Easter puzzles, booklets, stickers and other prizes for the Easter Egg Hunt. Many of our church family donate small Easter items to include in these packs for the kids. Once the kids have had fun finding the plastic eggs, they bring them inside to a designated area and redeem their plastic eggs for the Easter surprise packs. It doesn't matter how many eggs they have found, everyone receives a pack even if they've only found one egg. Not only does this prevent the tears of disappointment, it also involves the church family in the activity and means that we can provide more value in their packs than just chocolate and sweets.

Tip #5: Consider an evening Easter Egg Hunt for something a bit different
If you're looking  to presenting an Easter Egg Hunt that is just a little different from the usual egg hunt, perhaps you might like to consider an Egg Hunt at night. There's is an added element of surprise and excitement when events are held in the evening and this is no different. Check out the simple ideahere...  You might like to include this as a finale to a special Easter outdoor movie event. These glow-in-the-dark egg hunts make Jesus the focus as kids search in the darkness for eggs that represent Jesus, the light of the world.
There is also and Easter adventure book of video and a program guide to accompany the eggs.
