Yes, Mother's Day is just around the corner and it's a special time for children, too, as they take the opportunity to thank mum for her tremendous impact in their lives. I've included a ppt slide in case you need something to highlight this special day with the mothers in your church family or to serve as a reminder for the kids. I've included the information that we need for our Mother's Day event but obviously, you can change it to suit your needs.
If you're also looking for some kids' program resources for this special day, you can check out www.childrens-ministry-deals.com    They have a complete Mother's Day and Father's Day lesson bundle  that also includes a printable card that kids can cut out and decorate. The Mother's Day/ Father's Day combo costs $25.

This term, in Kidz Church, we will be presenting Roanoke Jones, Ace Detective (Elevate). Kids will follow the clues through some of the Bible's greatest detective stories like Naaman and the search for the missing cure; Elisha and the missing axe head; Daniel and the mysterious writing on the wall and more.
The material is well presented but we try to highlight the family ministry programs and activities with the whole church family and there is nothing that we could show that would introduce this material for everyone. But... if you visit Animoto you can quickly and easily put together a 30sec clip for free. If you want to produce a longer clip or remove the logo, it will cost $5/mth + for more options. I've added some graphics and some wording and created a small clip to present to the church family during the announcements segement of our worship service. It's only short and I'm sure that it could be improved upon by someone more creative than I, but it does give you some idea of the potential of this simple program. Your created clips can be shared on Facebook, email or on your webpage. Check out the sample below.

The holiday break has been wonderful but the start of term looms so I've been working on the set design for our new Kids Club program this term- Babylon. Both our space and our budget are limited so, although I love the creative designs presented by Group pub for their Babylon program, there's no way I could create anything resembling their wonderful themed areas. We are presenting their Babylon VBS program as a weekly kids club event, too, (taking each day/lesson over 2 kids' club days)which means we need to be able to set  up and dismantle it quickly and easily each week.

So... I've created the wall with packing boxes from OfficeWorks (pk of 10 for $10) painted grey and then sponged with dark grey around the edges- simple. I've made the hanging gardens by poking pieces of green crepe paper streamers into a couple of smaller boxes and resting them on the top of the wall. I did purchase the Tribe posters from Group and mounted them on wooden dowels/wood blocks from Bunnings hardware.

Then, for versatility and to save space, I've printed A3 pages of our various family ministry programs and events and stuck them to the back of the wall boxes to use as a display for children's ministry for the remainder of the week. (See photo below)
